Movie Review – The Core
I got The Core on DVD as part of a triple-pack (the pack contained Timeline, a movie I loved and hadn’t found on DVD before).
I have to admit, my expectations weren’t high. I vaguely remember it being canned when it was in the cinemas, and it seemed a little too “Armageddon” for me. Still, neither T nor I had seen it, so we watched it last night.
I have to say, I was impressed. I mean, the sciencey parts are very much “leave your brain at the door”, and the plot was very cliche, but the acting was great, some of the characters were hilarious, and it had some great one-liners.
What’s more, who couldn’t love a movie with a Sailor Moon reference in it?

I came home one day when Daniel was halfway through watching the core and just laughed my way silly through the rest of it. It’s definitely one of those movies that has it’s so bad it’s good moments.
