Ageing and mortality

Ageing is possibly the cruelist trick in life. Because modern medicine keeps us alive far beyond our used-by dates, so when we do die it can often be seen almost as a blessing. On Friday T and I are going to the funeral of his grandmother, who died in the early hours of Monday morning.
